ESC-NFC Alumni hosts annual group outing to Buffalo Bisons game SUNY Empire State College Night at the Ballpark
On Friday July 19th I attended ESC-NFC’s Alumni hosted annual group outing, Buffalo Bisons game. Let me start by saying I had fun, we had good seats and would definitely go again. Our group didn’t allow the threat of a rain storm deter us from both attending and enjoying the event. We Buffalonians are a loyal and dedicated group of sports fans!
During the game, we did experience a half an hour or so game delay at top of the 8th inning. Our seats were up just high enough to be covered by the upper deck, which meant we were able to wait the storm out without getting wet. As the game restarted, our group was able to take pleasure in watching the Bisons beat their opponents, the Toledo Mudhens 2-1.
Friday night games are usually followed by a wonderful display of fireworks; however, the fireworks were cancelled due to the storm that finally made its appearance. Speaking of the storm, boy did it hit hard and heavy. Bonus highlight; sticking it out through the rain delay and fireworks cancellation proved to be beneficial in that the Bisons organization offered all in attendance exchange tickets for an upcoming Bisons game including Friday night fireworks. Not a bad deal at all!
This event proved to be a great opportunity to meet and talk with fellow students, alumni, staff and faculty. I had a good time, met new people and will surely go to another ESC sponsored event!
